 Extra FTP Accounts
Overview Directions Add Edit/Delete Rules

Adding extra FTP accounts to your account is simple. Any FTP accounts you create, make changes to, or delete are done so in real-time as well. Just follow the directions below to learn how to add new or edit/delete existing FTP accounts on preston-net.com.

To add extra FTP accounts, you will need to provide a login and password, along with a "Restricted Area" within your account. It is important to understand that an extra FTP account cannot move change directories below its restricted area-it can only access this directory and any files and/or directories created within this area. Your main FTP account will have access to all of the "Restricted Areas", including files and directories created by other FTP accounts.

The "Restricted Area" for all extra FTP accounts should begin with a forward slash "/". For example, a Restricted Area of "/joe" would give this user access to a directory named "joe", located in your public_html directory.

Please be sure to read over our rules for setting up FTP accounts. Click here to create extra FTP accounts.
