Subdomains are an extension of your virtual domain name and come in the form of subdomain.preston-net.com. Any subdomain you create on your account will also create a directory called the "Document Root" for that subdomain. The Document Root is where the web server looks for the files for a particular subdomain. The Document Root for preston-net.com is /public_html. By specifying the Document Root, you can control what directories are accessable through the web for each subdomain.
